Decided to change it up around here today.
I made a sign for my bathroom and actually remembered to use my camera.
So that is what this lovely post will be about today.

I made this sign today! It didn't take very long and it was super easy.
Let me show you!
First,
I found this saying on the handy dandy Pinterest.
When I saw it all the words were vertical so I had to rearrange it on Photoshop to be horizontal.

I did a new project and set the size in inches to what the size of the board I had and how long I wanted the sign to be. It was 5 inches long and 36 inches wide.
I messed around with the fonts a little then sent the file to my hubby who so conveniently works at an architects office and can print very large things off.
Once I got the file on paper I cut it to size of the board. I do have to mention though that I cleaned the board by dusting it off with a broom and had to cut it to the length of 42 inches. Once the paper was cut to the width I centered it with 3 inches on both side and taped it at each end.
Here is the whole board. Make sure and only tape the ends and not the middle.
Then I used this transfer paper that was left over from an older sign project.
Take the transfer paper and lay it between the board and the paper. Make sure the waxy side is face down.
Once your transfer paper is in place use something to trace the top design with, I usually just use the back of a paint brush, or a pencil will work just fine. Once you trace one part, just move your transfer paper down the project. For example after I traced the bike and the word 'Life' I'd have to move my transfer sheet down the board to trace the word 'is'. If you notice that you are tracing and you aren't seeing the design on your board all you need to do is flip the transfer sheet upside down.
Here is the finished traced design.
From there I took white paint and just painted over the tracing. I used white transfer sheet and white paint, that way you didn't have to be perfect and paint over the lines. Oh and you don't really have to paint all the details. For example the bike spokes aren't painted, they are just the trace paper.

And there you have it, a painted sign!
Enjoy and I want to see your projects!!

So I've had a few people ask me how I tied my scarf in this pictures...

So I thought It would be a great time to try out the new camera and it's video mode! Well remember this is a trial and error thing and I'm still figuring out my camera. So with that said, I have made you a out-of-focus-funny-laugh-at-myself video on how to tie a scarf as such.

Love the screen shot above haha
Hope you enjoy, I know I'll regret this later on haha

This is what I have been working on all day today. I know its another decor thing and has nothing to do with fashion but I promise Ill come back to fashion. I made the table runner, the soup tags, and did the simple decorations. The colors of the wedding are obviously yellow and gray, and at first I hated them. But after looking at Pinterest all day long I have learned to love it.
Tomorrow is a work day, so a post is less likely. But ill be back on Thursday for sure.
Thanks for reading and sorry about the bummer post yesterday.

First of all I'd like to say Happy Birthday to my mom! I hope she has an awesome day today and I love you!

Sorry for the lack of outfit posts this week, I have been super busy and now feel like I'm coming down with a cold :( So today I figured I'd show you one of my DIY ideas I found on Pinterest! And can't wait to try it out. I'll let you know how it goes!

Well one day while I was browsing Pinterest I came across this picture and then noticed Hubs just cleaned out his drawers and was throwing away 2 thermals.Whoa! Its a sign I'm suppose to give my sewing skills a shot.

At first I tried forever to find where this picture came from, and no luck. So I can't give credit where credit is earned. And I couldn't find any tutorials from any amazing sewing ladies, so I ventured off on my own.  I knew that I wasn't going to be able to make my cardigans as detailed as the above picture. Heck all I can do is sew a straight line(literally). So no cute shoulder details, which is okay. I was going for a comfy, lazy day cardigan, or one I could wear to the climbing gym. Here are a couple of pictures from what I did.

I laid the thermal out on the floor.

I cut up the middle of the shirt. I found the middle by just following the natural pattern in the shirt.

After putting the thermal on and noticing how big it was on the sides, I went to the sewing machine, turned the thermal inside out and sewed up the sides to my fit.

After both sides were done, I sewed a hem down the front where I made the cut.

And BAM you're done! Easy right!

And I made a red one too (even though this picture you can't tell at all)

I really liked how they turned out and they are sooo comfy from the Hubs wearing them. Easy little task to take something that was going to be thrown away into something that I know I will wear all the time!

Try it out this weekend and let me know how it goes!

Sorry about no post yesterday, I had to work and my camera was out of batteries and I couldn't find the charger until today.  Which means no early planning for a post to be done. But I'm playing catch up right now!

This past weekend was full of pumpkin carving, crazy hair, and projects getting finished! Hubs and I went to 2 parties and carved our pumpkins. The first party we went to was with my cousins and we took a small little pumpkin which I pulled the boring decorator and just carved an H in it for our last name. But the cool part was that the party was called the 'Fun-Do' party where we had chocolate fondue and did your hair crazy instead of dressing up. So I must say our hair rocked!! Don't you think? I tried to pull the 80's hair, then I went crazy and did the light blue eye shadow, the bright red lipstick, and the denim jacket. Hubs hair we made it stick completely straight out like he stuck his finger in a light socket! It was lots of fun.

Now I've been dying to share my finished projects!! I finished a few of them but wont completely share all the details of them today. Here is a list...
List
* Painted the coffee table lime green
* Made a cardigan from an old thermal of Hubs

but I want to share with everyone this project and I'll save those for later on in the week

* The old worktable. Does anyone remember my old worktable I bought from the DI? If not read about it here. But IT'S COMPLETE and in the kitchen doin' it's thing. After it got completed I couldn't sell it(which I knew was going to happen) but now our kitchen is slightly tight with all the furniture in it. But it functionally works great!

(don't mind the dishes in the sink, we are going for the lived in look)

I like how it turned out! Oh here is a little update on the October Famine...I'm still goin! Haven't bought a single clothing item or accessory the WHOLE month!! Only a few more days to go!!

Shopping Ban Day #25
Well have a great day I'm going to hangout in my PJs for awhile today :)

Well here is my vintage window decor.  Its I love how it turned out! I like to know that all of this was my own idea and I didn't see it online anywhere. I'm sure there are similar designs out there because there are plenty of amazing interior designers.

Hubby thinks I need to hang some fabric from the curtain rod, I'm not closed off to the idea but what do you guys think??

Have you looked on my pinterest at the painted piano? I kinda want to do that to mine but worried it will change the sound. Any thoughts about that one??

Wow sorry about that drought of posts I just put you through, it kinda going to happen every once in awhile when I work from 0700-1900 3 times a week. Oh the medical field lol!

This is my painting that I did over the weekend, I think it turned out pretty rad. My favorite part of it is that its going to add a bunch of color to my living room.  I'm surprised how straight my lines came out because I didn't use a ruler or anything.  Pretty simple, but I love simple!

I'll place pictures up once I get it up in my living room.

The shopping ban is still continuing with Lilly from Lilly's Style.  Honestly I haven't even had time to set foot in any store other than the grocery store. So that's nice that I've been super busy. I have had a weak moment when I get on the computer because I do a lot of online shopping. This friday is pay day so it will be the real test because I'll have a pocket full of new cash.  Wish me luck!

Shopping ban- Day 5
Have a wonderful day, you'll most likely get a post tomorrow lol

Ok so I'm kinda excited about this awesome project I picked up last week. Every once in a while when I'm bored and don't want to spend money but want to go shopping I make a trip to my local DI.  Now those of you who don't live in Utah probably don't know what a DI is.  It's a place where you can go and drop off your used clothing and household items then they turn around a sell them. I guess its like the Salvation Army place(which i've never been to so I could totally be wrong).

I went there last week just to browse their furniture and came across this awesome workbench.

I was immediately drawn to the colors, the simplicity, and the fact that it was all metal. I thought to myself...that piece is really awesome but i'm not sure what I'd do with it...So I walked away from it. As I was walking away from it I saw this other girl standing over it looking at it with deep thought. In my mind I was sad to know that it was going home with her, so I just walked further away and didn't look back.  I went home and couldn't stop thinking about how amazing it would look with a butcher block top on it and used as an island in a kitchen.  So I told my hubby Jeff to call his parents and meet me at the DI with their truck so I can pick it up. Went back and lo and behold it was still there.

Since then I've cleaned it up took that sticker off and went and bought the butcher block top for it yesterday. I can't wait for it to be done it's going to look simply amazing! I'll post pictures once it is complete with the top and everything.

There is a sad part to this story, you see I have absolutely no room in my kitchen for it.  I guess if your interested in this bad boy and live in SLC let me know and maybe we can make an arrangement.
