Can I please tell you the history of this skirt?
Okay thanks!
I've had this skirt since high school, so over 10 years.
Yes, I just had my ten year reunion this year.
Anyway, this skirt has been through the ringer or two.
I've chopped the top off, chopped the bottom off and brought it in on the sides to actually fit me.
Many of you probably will call the WT, but these Dickie skirts are the bomb.com
(back to hs days on that one too)
So even though it may look slightly mangled it's one of my fave skirts ever
and I will continue wearing it until it decides to
a) get a hole in it
b) rip up the sides/middle
or
c)zipper breaks
Long live the Dickie's skirt!
Did you win the GMDCAT contest?
Check it out!

Blue & yellow have become my new fav colors to wear.
I think I've worn them every day this week after I wore this outfit.
Instead of singing the song
....black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow....
the words are going to be changed to
....blue and yellow, blue and yellow, blue and yellow....
at least for this week :)

If you didn't know already...which all of you should have known because of the giveaway....but they did a fun Summer Fashion Event & Blogger Mingle.
It was a blast! I got to see the Utah County bloggers (most bloggers are from utah county, ps) again. I really enjoy all those girls, too bad they live so far away. Along with those ones I did know, I got to meet ones I haven't met yet (Not going to lie best part of blogging, meeting new people).
I didn't take pictures this time around. Alittle blogger secret, everyone usually brings their cameras but usually only one person uses it and everyone else 'steals' (with permission of coarse) those photos. So here are the photos from the night compliments Fashion Utah & Aubry from Beauty & Truth!

Well that's all the fun! Which it was fun!
Thanks Apricot Lane for putting on a great event!

Ok this post is slightly different then the rest.
I have a scarf 3 different ways (real original right?)
Not any ol scarf but the stars and stripes of our nations flag scarf. Which right now is so in! (Please read that with a valley girl expression, Thanks!)
Option #1
Simple enough, right? I actually really love this look. It's casual, yet slightly different and fun. It was easy to do, simple knot. :) but I did mine to be slightly longer on one side so you are able to see the stars along with the stripes on top of my hair.
Option #2
Rockin the turban. I do have to say, umm my head hates holding in scarfs or headbands so I just had to bobby pin it on and there was a little tail in the end that wouldn't tuck because I didn't start with the ends equal. Lesson to learn! But this is a fun way to dress up the messy bun.
Option #3
Okay this one looks like I just have the scarf hanging from my neck, but really I turned it into a vest. I know you can't really tell (bad pictures, sorry) but I took the back 2 corners and wrapped them around my body and tied them in a cute bow. For some reason my brain didn't think...hey it would be a great idea to take a pic of that for the blog....nope no brain activity about that one at all. But I've seen this done where they wore a jacket/cardigan that hit just at the hips and had the front tails of the scarf sticking out...it was SUPER CUTE!But I'm not about to wear a cardi or a jacket when it's 102 degrees out sorry! Try it out, I know you'll love it!
Happy 4th!
Thanks for reading and viewing my pics!

I never have been a massive fan of the fur, except when I saw this little simple vest. Yep fell in love, and I can't wait to see what I can do with it.

One thing about this outfit is that I didn't want to wear tights, so I decided to wear these socks which go above my knees...PERFECT to keep my little leggies warm and solved the problem of not having to wearing tights.

This week I've been kind of irritated at this blogger/blogging thing, I had to buy more space from Google for my pictures...I didn't even know that would happen. Now my blog is actually costing me money, so weird to think about.

My whole life I've had eczema and I currently have it on my arms, neck, face, and scalp. Life with eczema isn't always easy. It's a constant battle to not itch those areas and to try and find a happy medium. Living in Utah I always can expect my eczema to break out more during the changing seasons, especially from summer to fall and winter to spring. So why am I bringing this up? Well there are 2 reasons.

1. I wanted to share my little tricks with people about managing eczema
and
2. I'm taking out my extensions today because it's too hard with my scalp eczema.

So here are some tricks I've learned over the past 27 years about living with eczema.

-WATER SOFTENER!! I know they are expensive, but holy moly this thing made the biggest difference in my life! If you are someone like me and you 'suffer' everyday the money is well worth it, not to mention you can take it with you if you move from house to house.

- AVEENO! I use Aveeno body wash and daily body lotion EVERY SINGLE DAY! These products help keep my skin soft and moisturized especially in the dry air of Utah. I carry the lotion everywhere and travel with both of them anywhere I go. I can actually tell when I haven't used them for a couple of days.

-STAY AWAY FROM ITCHY FABRICS. I can't wear anything made of wool next to my skin or have a lot of angora in it. The wool is so itchy to me, and it only makes my eczema flare up. The angora gets in my eyes (sounds silly yes but it does) and once it get my eyes all itchy and watery my face starts to flare up and it's all over from there, so no angora!

-STEROID CREAM, only use sparingly. I really don't like using steroid cream, only because it's a steroid and they aren't good for your body with a lot of use. I only use steroids when I absolutely need to, like dang it scratched myself to bleed moment and then I will put it on at night and then go to sleep.

-SLEEPING/ANTI-ITCHING MED. Every once in a while (seriously maybe once every 4 months) I can't sleep because I'm itching everywhere, the pillow case is bugging my cheek, the sheets are scratchy against my arms...it's a disaster!

I think that's all my tricks and though I might still have big flare ups they help manage my skin to have less. Occasionally I still get to the 'break the skin start bleeding' moments and I always have to remember that those areas put me at a greater risk for infections. So always wash your hands and try and not touch those areas until they are healed (Nurse Nikki coming out, sorry).

I do have to thank my husband for being so patient with me, my itching, and complaining. He seriously saved me by finding the Aveeno, complete lifesaver!!

Please feel free to email me with any questions about eczema, I love to share any details that might help others out there.
